A journey into the heart of Mexico… sharing experiences with old and new friends

     🌿Welcome to Casa Colibrí retreats.

Here we share stories. We visit places  where time softens, where the air is warm, the fruit is picked straight from the trees, and the noise of everyday life gently fades into the background.

This is more than a retreat, it is a return.  A return to connection, to presence, to the quiet joy of simply being. Here, days unfold naturally. You will share laughter and meaningful moments with old and new friends,
explore the richness of Mexico’s history and landscapes,  and awaken a sense of adventure that lives gently within you. Mornings begin with stillness.
Afternoons invite discovery. Evenings bring reflection, warmth, and connection.

For those who believe that the most meaningful moments are found in nature,  in culture, in shared experiences, and in the simple, almost invisible magic of connection.

    🌿This space is for you.

Casa Colibrí is a sanctuary where something shifts. where this adventure starts. Where a quiet spark of wellness is rekindled. Where you leave not just rested but changed in the most beautiful, subtle way.

    🌿Do you Remember?

Do you remember the last time you reached up and picked a lemon straight from a tree, still warm from the sun, and tasted life exactly as it is? Do you remember what it feels like to stand before something so ancient, so powerful, like the pyramids of Teotihuacan, and feel, even for a moment, completely in awe? Or to wander slowly through cobblestone streets, shaped by hands over 500 years ago, in the heart of Mexico City, feeling history beneath your feet
and wonder rising quietly in your chest? Somewhere along the way… we forget.

We get busy. We get distracted. And little by little, we lose those moments, that quiet connection to the world and to ourselves. But something in us remembers. Something calls us back. Just beyond the city, in the gentle land of Miacatlán, there is a place where you can remember again.

At Casa Colibrí, life begins to slow. You walk through an orchard filled with lemons, limes, papayas, mandarins, bananas, and pomegranates.
You breathe deeper. You feel the earth beneath your feet… the sun resting softly on your skin. There is no rush here. Only space. Space to feel. Space to reconnect. Space to return. This is not just a place you visit…
It is a place that awakens something within you. And once you feel it, you don’t forget again.

    🌿first Day

Arrival in Mexico City — What to Expect

Once you land in Mexico City, take your time to go through immigration and collect your luggage. When you exit the airport, your private driver will be waiting for you with clear identification.

From there, you’ll enjoy a comfortable drive to Casa Colibri in Miacatlán (about 1.5 hours), where your retreat begins.

Flights arriving late? No worries, we will be there to pick you up, no matter the time.

🌿 Simply arrive, we’ll take care of the rest.

    Your Arrival at Casa Colibrí

This is your time to settle in… slowly and gently.

You’ll be shown to your room and invited to get comfortable with the space and explore the facilities at your own pace. Take a moment to unwind, maybe enjoy the pool, relax in the garden, or sip on a fresh smoothie.

As the afternoon unfolds, you’ll meet your fellow retreaters and begin to connect. In the evening, we’ll gather for a beautiful welcome ceremony, followed by a calming singing bowls meditation to open the heart, relax the body, and center ourselves for the journey ahead.

🌿 Simply arrive… breathe… and let yourself land.

    🌿Second Day

    Tour of the Cacahuamilpa Caves

In the morning, we begin with a nourishing breakfast, gently easing into the day.  From there, time for our first adventure. We journey to the breathtaking Grutas de Cacahuamilpa, one of the largest cave systems in the world. Vast chambers rise up to 80 meters high, surrounding you in silence and scale.

As you walk through these cathedral-like spaces, shaped over millions of years, something shifts. A quiet sense of wonder…

🌿  and a deep connection to something far older than us.

    Colonial City of Taxco

After our time in the caves, we continue our journey to the beautiful town of Taxco about 45 min away, where we enjoy lunch at an authentic Mexican restaurant, surrounded by the charm and character of this historic place.

Known for its silver, steep cobblestone streets, and timeless colonial beauty, Taxco feels like stepping into another era. As you wander through its winding paths, you can feel history beneath your feet, alive in every corner. In 1521, Hernán Cortés recognized the area’s rich mineral wealth, establishing one of the first Spanish mining operations in the Americas. Today, that legacy lives on in the town’s artistry, architecture, and enduring spirit. 🌿

    🌿Third day

    Unforgetable Temazcal Experience

We begin the morning with a nourishing breakfast at Casa Colibrí, grounding ourselves for the day ahead. Today is a magical day. we step into a powerful Mesoamerican ritual of rebirth, the sacred Temazcal ceremony. Guided by an experienced healer, you enter a small, intimate space where heat, steam, herbs, and intention come together. In the darkness and stillness, you are invited to release, to reflect, and to reconnect with yourself on a deeper level.

🌿 Many leave feeling lighter… clearer… and deeply restored.

Refreshing - Las Estacas Natural Park

The Temazcal ceremony takes place within the beautiful Las Estacas Natural Park, a sanctuary of crystal-clear waters and lush, jungle-like surroundings.  Here, the river flows warm year-round, inviting you to slow down, float, and simply be. After the ceremony, you’ll have time to relax, swim, and enjoy this extraordinary natural space, allowing the experience to integrate gently, surrounded by the beauty and stillness of nature.

🌿 A moment to play, to rest… and to reconnect.

    🌿Fourth Day

Pyramids of Theotihuacan - UNESCO World Heritage Site

On the fourth day, we gently say goodbye to Casa Colibrí and begin our journey toward the ancient city of Teotihuacan. We enjoy an early breakfast and depart in the morning, allowing us to arrive while the site is still quiet and softly waking with the day. Teotihuacán is a massive city built over 2,000 years ago,  by a civilization we still don’t fully understand. A place surrounded by mystery, once known as “the place where the gods were born.” And when you stand there, you feel it. Walking along the Avenue of the Dead, surrounded by pyramids that have stood for centuries, there is a sense of awe, of scale,  of something far greater than words can explain. We take time to explore, to absorb, and to simply be present in this extraordinary place. Lunch will be enjoyed in the Teotihuacán area, allowing you to continue taking in the energy and beauty of the surroundings before we continue our journey. 🌿

Closing the Journey — Mexico City

After our time in Teotihuacan, we continue into the heart of Mexico City to visit the iconic Zócalo and the Mexico City Metropolitan Cathedral. This is where past and present meet. Built over the ancient Aztec capital, this space carries centuries of history, energy, and transformation. As you stand here, you can feel the layers, old and new, all existing together in one powerful place. We take time to walk, to observe, and to absorb,  surrounded by thousands of years of history, culture, and life unfolding all around you.  And then, gently, the journey comes to a close.

We will take you to the airport for your departure, carrying with you not just memories… but a feeling—of connection, of presence, and of something rediscovered within yourself. 🌿

In this moment, there is nowhere else to be. You find yourself deeply savoring the serenity… the quiet beauty… and the simple pleasure of this extraordinary retreat.

    🌿Enjoy late afternoon singing bowls

On your first day, after warm introductions and settling into your rooms, we gently begin your journey. As you arrive and get familiar with the space, we gather for a welcome ceremony, a moment to pause, breathe, and transition into the rhythm of the retreat. Through a soothing singing bowls meditation, we open the heart, quiet the mind, and begin to center ourselves. It is a soft landing, a space to arrive not just physically, but emotionally and energetically..

    🌿Enjoy afternoon meditation sessions

After a day of exploring, discovering, and taking in the beauty of Mexico, we gently return inward. We gather for a quiet moment of meditation, a space to recenter, align our energy, and soften the mind. There is nothing to do, nowhere to go, only a gentle invitation to breathe, to release, and to come back to yourself. Even just a few moments in stillness can restore clarity, calm the nervous system, and reconnect you with a deeper sense of peace.

    🌿Enjoy afternoon painting workshop

After a day of exploring and discovering, we return to stillness, a moment to rest, to breathe, and to gently restore. In the quiet of the evening, we gather for a creative experience, our painting workshop. Here, we explore the simple, healing act of painting. We work mostly with small stones, letting intuition guide us, adding words of encouragement, meaningful quotes, soft colors, or whatever the heart feels called to express. Each piece becomes a small message of light. Later, these stones are placed in different locations for others to find, an unexpected gift, a moment of connection, a reminder that someone, somewhere, cared. A small act of giving back, a quiet way of sharing your love with the world.

    🌿 Silver History of Taxco

The story of Taxco is deeply intertwined with silver.

When the Spanish arrived in the early 1500s, they quickly recognized the region’s rich mineral deposits. In 1521, Hernán Cortés identified Taxco as a place of great potential and established one of the earliest mining operations in the Americas. This marked the beginning of Taxco’s transformation into a thriving silver-producing center. Over the centuries, silver mining shaped the town’s identity, economy, and architecture. Wealth generated from the mines helped build the stunning colonial structures that still define Taxco today, most famously the iconic Santa Prisca Church, a symbol of the town’s prosperity and artistic heritage.

We will be visiting some stores where you can safely buy 925 Sterling silver jeweler

In the 20th century, Taxco experienced a revival when American designer William Spratling established a silver workshop in the 1930s. He worked closely with local artisans, blending traditional Mexican craftsmanship with modern design. This sparked a renaissance that positioned Taxco as the silver capital of Mexico.

Today, as you walk through its narrow cobblestone streets, you’ll find countless silver shops and workshops. The craft is still alive, passed down through generations, making Taxco not just a place of history, but a living tradition of artistry and cultural pride.

      🌿Meet Your Retreat Leaders

Olimpia Oree and Jose Luis Ruiz

For over 30 years, siblings Olimpia and José Luis carried a shared dream: to create a sanctuary where people could reconnect with themselves, nature, and something deeper within. Life led them on different paths—filled with challenges, growth, and experiences across cultures, but that quiet vision never left them. Olimpia, originally from Mexico and now based between Airdrie, Alberta and Miacatlán, Morelos, brings a life shaped by resilience, creativity, and a deep devotion to caring for others. Through her journey, she cultivated the ability to hold space for healing, growth, and meaningful connection. José Luis’s path took him around the world, yet it was the call to return home, to simplicity, nature, and tradition, that ultimately guided him back. There, the dream began to take form. Today, together with Jana, Jose Luis's parner, , they have brought Casa Colibrí to life, a sanctuary born from time, experience, and unwavering intention. Rooted in Mexican culture and ancestral practices such as temazcal, meditation, and mindful living, Casa Colibrí offers a space for renewal, authenticity, and deep transformation. More than a retreat, it is the embodiment of a lifelong vision, a place where simplicity, connection, and the wisdom of the land guide you back to yourself.

      14. Agreement

By booking your retreat, you acknowledge that you have:

      • Read
      • Understood
      • Agreed to these Terms & Conditions.

This retreat and experiences were created thinking about you, especially for you. I know there's a part of you that remembers… what it feels like to be present, to feel light, to simply be.

Life may have pulled you away from that place… but it’s still there, waiting.

Casa Colibrí is not an escape.
      It’s a return.

And if you feel that pull… this is your moment to say yes. 🌿
